Poetic Jam Session and Flag of Our Fathers

Poems are written in real time at QuickMuse. There is a "playback" feature where you can see the poem unfold, but the man behind QuickMuse is Ken Gordon, an article by him is also on Poets and Writers.
William Broyles Jr., writer of Flags of Our Fathers, is interviewed here for the Writers Guild of America, west. William was a Marine Lieutenant in Vietnam, so we can imagen that war movies are somewhat personal to a writer like him. I´m sure he has also passed on some ideas about war to the director of the film. James Jones is another writer who was at the front in WWll and became a writer writing the novel, Thin Red Line. A good film was made (1998) based on the book though it was criticized for its lack of dramatic focus, but then, does war have a dramatic focus? It is somewhat a poetic film about war.
