Liberal what ...?

The Tory party in UK may have missed something when Michael Portillo wasnt given the control room, to take control as the leader and allowed, say, 5 years to change the party. Not that I mind thou it may matter when they get into power, one day, but Portillo is the sort of politician that needs time to develop his ideas into practical reality before they become excepted, and he needs a flexable attitude from his fellow members of the party. A party which is now possible the most hopeless major political party in Europe.

If immigration becomes a bigger issue here, which is no matter if we like it or not always linked to racial issues and policy making about the multi cultural society, it can turn confrontational. It will always be of concern while the world order is like it is. Portillo is a liberal Tory, possible one of the very best politician they have today, of a lot that dreams of getting right wing values back into place, into power, and possible a very tough boarderline policy.
