Too much pressure?
Carl Wilkinson writes in The Guardian about too much pressure on young writers. Martin Amis is the archetype. The Rachel Papers was published in 1973 when Amis was 24 and won him the Somerset Maugham Award. Then, but maybe unthinkable today 'No interviews, no readings, no photo sessions.'
Are we moving more and more into the world of boring western capitalsism, or any other sort of not so interesting capitalism we didnt have few decades ago.
